3rd Grade Coaches Responsibility

1) Complete the Great Northwest Form and submit it to the Great Northwest League by the due date on the form.  This form can be downloaded from the Great Northwest League website.  This ensures that your team will complete in NON COMPETETIVE meets hosted by the Great Northwest League.

2) Order t-shirts (one t-shirt per player).  You will need to get sizes and place the order NO LATER than September 30th.  You can order them through any vendor of your choice.  The Club has been ordering them through Chippewa Valley Sporting Goods.  Our contact there is Randy Bert.  Sizes run small so order them on the large side.  These t-shirts will be used for the following year also.

3) Contact Ann Kline, the activities director secretary, to secure practice time in the elementary gym.  Her email is [email protected], or reach her by phone at 715-838-7081.  This can be done in early October.

4) Coaches should read the Altoona Backcourt Rules & Responsibilites posted on this website.  It is the coaches responsibility to make sure that every parent has been given a copy of these rules and responsibilities.

5) It is the coaches responsibility to provide the league secretary, Echo Santos, with their name, which grade they are coaching, a telephone number, and email address where they can be reached.  Echo's email is posted on this website under Board Members.

6) Any player dues or registration forms collected by the coach should be turned into the league treasurer - Lashawn Nelson.  Lashawn's contact information can be found on this website under Board Members.  Please DO NOT give any dues or registration form to any other board member.  ONLY to the treasurer.  The dues need to be turned in BEFORE any practice or meet is played.  NO player may practice or participate in a meet if the treasurer does not have both the registration form and dues in her possession.

7) All coaches must be in compliance with the Great Northwest League's registration rules.  This includes submitting a roster on their website and submitting any waiver forms that are required. The Great Northwest League will not schedule teams in a tournament if they are not in full compliance.

8) Finally, HAVE FUN, basketball is a great game.  It can teach lessons that each player can carry throughout their lives such as sportsmanship, responsibility, teamwork and goal setting.
